  Sex Offender Investigations

As part of the buyers’ rights of investigation in the standard real estate contract, one of the things buyers have the right to investigate is related to Megan’s Law. Buyers have the right to discover the presence of any convicted sex offenders in the neighborhood, and have the right to cancel a purchase contract based on the findings within the first ten days of the contract.

All convicted sex offenders must register with local police departments, and the Tulsa Police have them listed on their website complete with photos. You can visit www.tulsapolice.org and then search any potential area in Tulsa by clicking on the zip codes in the map at the bottom of that page. In reality, you will find them in most all zipcodes, because the registry includes an assortment of charges other than child molestation.
